Good Day Chorale,
1) Thanks to everyone who was able to participate in the concert at
College View last night. I was very pleased with the concert...the
sound was very nice...instrumentalists did a great job. I appreciated
the playing of each member of our 'ensemble' Pastor Dave, our new
pastor at Crossroads Nazarene, said he enjoyed the concert, and
commented on how nice the woodwinds sounded. The soloists all did a
great job...thanks for sharing your gifts and your gentle spirits with
us all.
Paul Olson (Yvonne's husband) mentioned that the description that
seemed to fit the concert was: confidence. I noticed that too...no
noticable wrong notes, bad entrances, late cut-offs etc. There seemed to
be more smiles than usual too! Congratulations.
The audience (109 folks) was enthusiastic and very appreciative of the
music. I heard many postive comments afterwards. The folks from the
College View choir indicated that they enjoyed singing with us too.
Thanks for your enthusiasm and friendship.
A huge thanks to Terrie Norris for baking (50 dozen!) cookies and
providing the refreshments after the concert.
Also thanks to Rita (sound tech) who did a great job setting up and
operating the sound for us.
Thanks to Jonathan, Cindy's cousin, who played a wonderful offertory on
his classical guitar. He is studying music at USC as was able to stop
by on a cross-country tour. He told me after the concert the he enjoyed
the Chorale...that the words really touched him. He also said he'd be
glad to play with/for us if we needed a guitar in future concerts.
Thanks to Chuck Beatty, Darrel Swift, and Steve Phelps who helped with
the risers...returning them to the church, etc. It's not a ton of fun.
2) Susan McCoy had a CD in a black folder in the fellowship hall
afterwards, and apparently someone else accidentally picked up her
folder. Would you please check to see if you have a CD in your folder.
If so, could you bring it to rehearsal tomorrow night.
3) Please continue to pray for Lois Clough who is experiencing some
rather serious health issues. Her contact info is: 1650 S. Arizona Ave,
#72, Chandler AZ 85248 Phone: 480-732-0458. Pray that she can get an
appointment with a Cardiologist soon. Lois feels that she needs to
continue her tutoring, but is has been challenging for her to keep it
up.
4) Remember that we will be rehearsing at Bethany Community Church this
Tuesday only. Church is located at 6240 S Price Rd, just north of
Guadalupe. Please go to the choir room. Please bring your music.
Quote for the day: "Celebrate the happiness that friends are always
giving, make everyday a holiday and celebrate just living! " -- Amanda
Bradley
And another one that I like : "My friends have made the story of my
life. In a thousand ways they have turned my limitations into beautiful
privileges, and enabled me to walk serene and happy in the shadow cast
by my deprivation." -- Helen Keller
Thanks for helping to make the story of my life.
See you Tuesday,
Bruce
